Weekly Reflection – January 9, 2025
I might have taken it as an omen when I couldn’t log in to Zoom for the first of our Tech Education classes, had the rest of the class not gone so smoothly. As someone who loves learning new technologies and worked in the industry for eight years, I’m excited to explore how technology can (and should) be used in education. The syllabus is interesting, and the free inquiry assignments are so much fun. Who would have guessed that a university tech class would give me the opportunity to learn aerial hoop?
I’m hoping that some of my questions about technology in the classroom will be explored during this course: What specific technologies are available to support students? What about privacy concerns? How can we address some of the issues surrounding technology, particularly in relation to mental health and AI?
The only aspect I find slightly overwhelming is the weekly reflections and blog posts. As an English major and a bit of a perfectionist, I tend to put a lot of pressure on my writing. In the spirit of allowing myself to make mistakes and to preserve my energy, I’ll keep this post short.
